A Finder window will be opened for the topmost selected folder or the active pane's directory.

Shortcut: double clicking on a folder with the Cmd key held down will open it's Finder window. Selecting a folder in the "Open Folder" hierarchical menu with the Cmd key held down will also display it's Finder window.
